A&E Session Six

13 August 2012

Artists: Black Church Studio Members

Moderator: Sean O' Sullivan

A&E is a critical seminar programme that seeks to open dialogues across a broad range of practices and professional positions. The sixth discussion in this series features an open discursive platform with Black Church Print Studio members (Mary A Fitzgerald, Janine Davidson, Emma Finucane, Sarah Gordon, Robert Kelly, Elaine Leader, Colm Mac Athlaoich, Anja Mahler, Tom Moore, Louise Peat and Atoosa Pour Hosseini) all of whom participated in the collaborative exhibition Production (curated by Kate Strain).

The A&E event will mark the launch of a specially produced news-sheet documenting the activities of the collaborative in the lead up to the exhibition. It also features a text by Piia Rossi, BCPS member and artist/researcher who is currently a PhD candidate at the Bielefeld University, Germany/Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland. Her research focuses on socially engaged practices and contemporary education.

We invite the public to come along and partake in the discussion, where we hope to unravel some of the more contentious aspects of the project, the pitfalls and problems with collaborative work, and an evaluation of the project as a whole.

A&E is a Black Church Print Studio initiative, supported by Monster Truck Gallery & Studios. For further information please contact Hazel Burke at info@print.ie or at (01) 677 3629.
